DESCRIPTION

Want to influence the development of tens of thousands of applications for earth€™s most customer-centric company? Consumer Reliability Engineering is looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) who is passionate about making a difference, improving software maturity, developer efficiency, and the availability of Amazon€™s Consumer applications and websites (yes, the Amazon you purchase things from). In this role you'll work alongside a team of TPMs which drive end-to-end programs and best practices to improve customer-observed availability, reduce the risks of releasing services and improve engineering excellence. We provide technical solutions, processes, services, analytics, machine learning, best practices and guidance for engineering teams to ensure customers have the best possible experience. We prepare, execute and evaluate the engineering efforts related to Amazon€™s largest retail events (Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday).

As a TPM on the Consumer Reliability Engineering team, you will own the short term (current year) and long term (3+ year) vision for the team, influence how thousands of other teams in Amazon operate, release, and iterate on their solutions. Your team operates and determines the most important new programs to initiate. You will define, scope and execute multiple simultaneous end-to-end programs based on data-driven analysis, collection of business/system requirements and creation of software architecture specifications. You will raise the bar for engineering excellence by assessing, improving and automating existing programs, tools, processes and operations. You will force-multiply your impact by introducing programs focused on improving software availability/reliability, process automation, major retail event execution, effort reduction and cost reduction across hundreds of tier-1 service teams and thousands of engineers.

Your ability to remove ambiguity, manage dependencies, communicate effectively, and dive deep into technical details is essential. Successful candidates will be able to balance think big with realism, deliver achievable software plans, while communicating progress to executive audiences.
