Northrop Grumman Marine Systems is seeking a Product Assurance Manager 3 to lead a team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Sunnyvale, CA. The manager should be knowledgeable of quality processes and methods in a manufacturing environment.

The Product Assurance Manager 3 leads strategic planning and quality oversight for product inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT), receiving inspection, calibration, and quality support for factory operations. This leader manages a team of first line managers and reports to the Quality and Mission Excellence Director. The qualified candidate will have demonstrated success leading organizations within cost and schedule while achieving a high level of employee engagement. The position requires a solution-based orientation, unwavering ethics and values, and the demonstrated ability to be a trusted partner.

The ideal candidate will extensive prior experience leading product assurance activities in a manufacturing environment and the ability to lead both managers and individual contributors. The candidate will be expected to drive quality processes throughout the factory leveraging their experience/background to bring alternative ideas/solutions to drive continuous improvement and mission excellence. The candidate will be required to have strong collaboration skills and demonstrated capability to partner cross-discipline/cross-function. The ability to develop and present plans for the acquisition and application of digital inspection technology is also desired.

Roles and responsibilities:

+ Leads multiple departments engaged in inspection (including receiving inspection), NDT, and calibration inclusive of the administration of budgets, schedules, and performance standards
+ Assures safety and quality compliance in accordance with company and contractual requirements
+ Engages on the shop floor and in work activities to provide direct support as needed while additionally coaching and mentoring facility personnel in quality methods and procedures
+ Maintains compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the performance and quality of products conform to established standards, specifications and customer requirements
+ Leverages metrics, customer and employee feedback to assess performance and risks, and determine resources to achieve high levels of performance
+ Promotes the professional development of the Product Assurance workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement
+ Provides performance reviews and periodic feedback for all direct reports
+ Develops and operates within departmental budgets for indirect costs and overhead

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ 13 or more years of relevant experience (or bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience)
+ Excellent oral and written communication, data analysis and problem solving skills
+ Demonstrated ability to manage both salaried and union employees
+ Experience leading teams and/or projects
+ Extensive prior work experience in the application of quality principles and practices (e.g., inspection, material review, etc.) supporting the manufacture and test of complex assemblies
+ Experience in engaging on the shop floor to provide solutions and coach and mentor others in the use of quality principles and practices
+ Understanding and experience of quality processes related to in process/final inspection, NDT, receiving inspection and calibration
+ Demonstrated problem solving skills in a manufacturing environment
+ Demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and in a multi-discipline team environment, providing insight and solutions to complicated technical issues

+ U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance
**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience working with DCMA and DOD customer organizations
+ Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
+ Familiarity with Earned Value Management

Salary Range: $141,300.00 - $211,900.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
