Northrop Grumman is seeking a Machinist to work in our Mechanical Fabrication shop to support various programs within the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance division. Located in McClellan / Sacramento location, this person will be performing a variety of machining and fabricating tasks, using both manual and CNC machines, making replacement as well as new parts.
Candidate will perform a variety of machining and fabrication operations using manual machines such as; lathes, milling machines, drill press, band saw, shears, metal punch. Must be able to interpret blueprints, sketches and engineering specifications to determine fabrication methodology. Setup and operate machining equipment including various hand tools to determine sequence of operations, making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds and speeds, measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining. Will be responsible for standard equipment maintenance and working with in house maintenance personnel or third party vendors as needed to keep equipment up and running; maintain machine tooling and related consumables; perform a variety of repetitive and non-repetitive mechanical assembly tasks; disassemble, modify, rework and reassemble mechanical assemblies; work with and be responsible for the storage and use of HAZMAT materials. Maintain high ethical standards for conduct, and must work collaboratively with others.

Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, plus 2+ years of related experience
Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches and engineering specifications
Ability to set up and operate a variety of machine tools, such as; milling machines, lathes, drill press and band saw.
Experience managing multiple projects
Experience reporting job status

Preferred Qualifications:
Must have good communication and collaboration skills
General knowledge and understanding of CAD/CAM program: PRO-E or SolidWorks
Strong ability to problem solve
Ability to manage multiple jobs with minimum supervision, establish priorities, and report job status in a timely manner
Must be mechanically inclined and pay close attention to detail
Must have a high degree of patience, adapt to change easily, and have a high level of motivation to complete tasks promptly
AA degree
Ability to prioritize projects

Salary Range: $54,500.00 - $90,900.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
