LCRA is looking for a Manager of Engineering to lead a dynamic and diverse team of Transmission Line Supervisors, Engineers, Analysts and Technicians in a meaningful way. We need an innovative, strategic problem solver, a leader who will inspire, mentor, and lead an exceptionally technical team to solve sophisticated challenges in designs.
Key Functions:
• Provide leadership and direction to staff.
• Direct, coordinate and ensure project designs are consistent with standards, practices, and procedures.
• Manage department and director assigned goals.
• Participate in industry committees to investigate current developments.
• Prepare or review written expert testimony in support of LCRA’s legal or regulatory proceedings.
• Develop and update engineering standards and procedures.
• Facilitate the training of staff.
• Analyze and solve complicated designs with the assistance of supervisors and department personnel.
• Coordinate customer and internal engineering challenges.
• Collaborate closely with Leadership, peers and other departments when asked to.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Twelve years of experience in engineering including experience providing leadership in engineering.
- A degree(s) in math, computer science, engineering, or related field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- For Water Services, requires an engineering degree plus eight or more years of engineering experience and a Professional Engineer license in the State of Texas.
- Driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
• Five plus years in supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, presentation, written and verbal.
• Proficient with PLS-CADD, MFAD, PLS-Tower, PLS-Pole and Caisson software.
• Skilled analytical skills including the ability to analyze, solve, process change and improve design.
• Familiar with regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and principles.
