Collect, cleanse, analyze and visualize data relating to Emergency Preparedness (EP) from a variety of internal and external sources. Foster close collaboration with internal stakeholders, management, leadership roles and cross-functional groups to transform data into actionable insights that drive decision making. Gain thorough understanding of business needs, identify process gaps and uncover opportunities for improvement. Leverage technology, software and modern frameworks to drive process improvement and automation. Provide and receive regular feedback and ensure the proper transfer of developed solutions. Validate findings with the business by sharing analysis outputs in a way that can be understood by business stakeholders. Share knowledge with team members, and business stakeholders, and IT partners. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
Primary Duties- (15%) Gather, integrate, and manage data from internal and external sources (e.g., relational databases, APIs) and analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and actionable insights using analytics frameworks/tools, including – but not limited to – SQL, Python, Excel.
- (15%) Create interactive dashboards, charts, and reports to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or Python-based libraries. Translate data insights into clear, business-friendly recommendations, tailored to non-technical audiences.
- (20%) Works with stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business needs, goals and objectives. Identify gaps and inefficiencies in existing workflows and processes and recommend data-driven solutions. Explore opportunities for automation using technologies such as scripting (Python, R, SQL) and workflow automation tools (Power Automate).
- (20%) Understand, document, and maintain existing tools, systems, and processes to ensure business continuity. Proactively monitor and troubleshoot issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to minimize disruptions. Continually assess and enhance the performance of existing systems by researching potential improvements and staying abreast of industry best practices.
- (10%) Document processes, methodologies, and solutions to ensure knowledge transfer among team members and stakeholders. Provide support and training as needed.
- (20%) Participate in Emergency Preparedness activities and projects: Emergency Response Drills, Emergency Load Conservation, Summer/Winter Readiness Plans, Emergency Generator and Transformer Deployment Process, Work Stoppage Planning, Black Start Planning. Participate in and coach personnel during emergency events. Monitor emergency events for process adherence and improvement opportunities. Conduct post-event lessons learned meetings, track completion of resulting action items, and file required regulatory report for the event. Coordinate emergency planning with municipal, state, federal agencies, and other industry groups.
Job Scope- This individual will report directly to the IT Manager, Internal Audit Services. In addition to being a self-starter, this individual will work independently and with the IAS management team to accomplish objectives. This individual will periodically interface with all levels of Exelon management and external auditors.

Minimum Qualifications- Five to eight years' experience in compiling and analyzing data, including experience with ACL software.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong project management and administration skills
- Strong technical skills, including but not limited to understanding how databases operate, how to use and set up ODBC connections, general server and mainframe knowledge, and a general understanding of file types for data extrapolation.
- Ability and willingness to travel (20-25%)
Preferred Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in a Quantitative discipline. Ex: Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Finance, Ops Research, Physics, Statistics, or related field.
- 4-7 years of relevant experience applying advanced analytic techniques to large, complex datasets and extracting actionable insights.
- High proficiency in SQL and Python for effective data extraction, manipulation and analysis as well as script/automation development. Expertise in Microsoft ecosystem (Office Suite including Access, Power Platform, SharePoint, VBA, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques and predictive modeling, with practical application to large-scale datasets. Familiarity with frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plus.
- Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP) and experience integrating analytics workflows within scalable, cloud-based architectures is a plus.
- Experience working with GIS tools and methods, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or Python-based geospatial libraries (e.g., GeoPandas, Shapely) is a plus.
- Solid foundation in data science and computer science principles, including advanced statistics, probability, data structures, algorithms, linear algebra, and optimization techniques. Ability to apply these concepts to solve complex analytical problems effectively.
- Experience in the electric utilities or broader energy sector and prior exposure to data structures pertaining to Outage Management Systems (OMS), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems, smart-meters, billing, etc.
