Chief Executive Officer – Railbelt Reliability Council
The Railbelt Reliability Council (RRC) is the first electric reliability organization ever established in the U.S. state of Alaska. Home to nearly 75% of the state’s population, the Railbelt region is a 700-mile-long transmission corridor stretching from Fairbanks in the north through Anchorage and the Kenai Peninsula to the South, and traversing some of Alaska’s most rugged and beautiful landscape. The goal of the RRC is to ensure grid resilience and reduce long-term costs by developing and enforcing technically sound reliability standards, conducting grid-wide integrated resource planning, and designing consistent interconnection protocols for grid users.
The ideal CEO candidate for the RRC will be an entrepreneurial leader excited by the chance to bring to life a start-up organization that will impact the state of Alaska for decades to come. S/He will have deep technical expertise in electric reliability standards and planning, and also possess outstanding personal character and relationship-management ability, enabling them to authentically build trust across a group of diverse internal and external stakeholders that, at times, represent divergent interests and priorities. This includes the Board of Directors, government regulators, utilities, independent power producers, environmental interest groups, consumer advocates, and other community stakeholders.
