Sr Engineering Tech Specialist-Transmission& Substation Organization-Engineering Standards & Applica

ESA is looking for a highly motivated software engineer who is a self-starter and proven team player.

Design, develop, and maintain software applications used for testing relays and protection systems in electrical power networks.

Collaborate with Testing and Commissioning engineers to ensure seamless integration of software with testing equipment.

Implement data analysis with tools and techniques to interpret test results and identify potential issues or abnormalities using PowerBase and RTS.

Familiar with programming languages like Python, SQL, Scripting language.

• Leads and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring extensive engineering expertise. Requiring maintaining state of the art engineering credential in the specialized technical area.
• Leads and performs engineering tasks and projects associated with a critical or analytical engineering project or a small number of complex projects that require specialized knowledge in many areas, may include field testing troubleshooting, and peer review.
• Evaluates, develops, implements and leads projects that have significant financial and operational impact, may also develop initial commissioning plans. Plans, writes and performs tasks for documentation deliverables and projects
• Participates in department planning, through field/site walkdowns, attend meetings/conference calls, provide budget recommendations and monitor performance for the accomplishment of committed results.
• Performs assignments while acting independently, and may lead multi-discipline teams, may include providing direct oversight of contractors.
• Serves as an expert in specialized area.
• Acts as an expert witness or provide expert opinions as required.
• Provides recommendations to management and implements action plans to improve performance and cost effectiveness.
• Provides detailed technical training, mentorship, peer review, and/or guidance to others.
• Participates in technical and industry societies and committees to enhance knowledge of new technologies or issues in areas of company interest, make recommendations for business decisions regarding strategy for new technologies and/or engineering techniques and tools.

• Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 4 or more years of relevant experience, or 6 or more years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches.
• Knowledge of construction, operations or engineering principles and practices.
• Knowledge of complex field test equipment.
• Broad knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments for a specific discipline installations, or service.
• Relevant education/experience is knowledge and/or skills that may be acquired through job experiences or education programs similar to a formal technical degree program. Relevant experience includes experience in a military role (transmission, distribution, gas, power systems, etc.), project management, journey-level electrician or gas technician, field operations, or other utility related experience, as deemed relevant to the role. Relevant educational experience includes company sponsored training programs (ex. PowerUp Academy) or other educational programs, as deemed relevant to the role. The equivalent relevant education / experience requirement is in addition to the position's minimum experience requirements.

• Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors:USD $87,200.00/Yr. - USD $130,800.00/Yr.
